Creina Day is founding director of the Growth, Demographics and Productivity research program at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analyis (CAMA). Day has contributed to the fields of endogenous growth theory, gender wage gaps, childcare and fertility, house price determination, optimal fossil fuel extraction, macroeconomic policy, population ageing and pensions, political economy and income inequality. Her reputation has been established through seminal papers in leading international journals including Berkeley Electronic Journal of Macroeconomics, Oxford Economic Papers, Review of Income and Wealth, and recognised with the JG Crawford Award for the best piece of original research on Japan and Top 10 downloaded Special Issue papers of the Economic Record. She is noted for proposing the fertility J-curve in 2004 which would first be confirmed empirically in 2009.
