Daniela is a Postdoctoral Associate within the Office Vice President of Research (OVPR) at The George Washington University. She completed her undergraduate in Psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile), master’s degree in Psychology at Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Chile), and her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of Exeter (UK). During her PhD, she received the Geis Memorial Award (APA Div. 35) and The Centre for Social Mobility grant (University of Exeter). Daniela’s research is focused on how individuals navigate and respond to gender and social class inequalities. Specifically, her research has examined: (a) the role of gender and social class experiences in individuals’ support (or lack of) to meritocracy; (b) gender and intersectional inequalities in STEM; and (c) how psychological constructs (e.g., belonging, authenticity, parenthood) reproduce gender and social inequalities.
