Nurina Merdikawati (Dika) is an applied microeconomist and her research interests are in the area of Development, Gender, and Labour. She is a Research Fellow, Investing in Women Research Coordinator at the Global Institute for Women's Leadership (GIWL). 

Prior to joining GIWL, Dika was a postdoctoral research fellow at J-PAL Southeast Asia. At J-PAL, she ran randomized evaluation research projects on improving women’s economic participation and increasing women’s access and use of digital financial services in Indonesia. She also delivered impact evaluation training to researchers and local government officials. 

Her prior research spans on the impact of labour market regulation, and financial inclusion, among others. She also had working experiences as a consultant for ADB, JANCPEC, contributor to the Economist, Research Associate at National University of Singapore (NUS) and INSEAD, and teacher at Keming Primary School. 

Dika received her PhD degree in Economics from Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. She earned Master in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from Nanyang Technological University.
