Gender Equality in the Women, Peace and Security Agenda

Join us for an important conversation about women in political peace and security, including the opportunity for policy makers, practitioners and researchers to network. You'll hear  Dr Elise Stephenson in conversation with  Dr Barbara K. Trojanowska  about Barbara's new book, Finding Gender Equality in the Women, Peace and Security Agenda.

The book offers a systematic take on key gender equality debates within the UN’s Women, Peace and Security agenda, their implications, effects and paradoxes, in the case studies of UN Security Council, ASEAN and Pacific Islands Forum, and Governments of the Philippines and Australia. Dr Trojanowska provides not only an empirically rich, intersectional analysis of gender equality but also points to the structural change required for diverse women to be truly equal participants in the peace and security space.
