The 2022 federal election has been widely seen as a turning point for women in politics – both in the impact of their votes and the record number of women being elected to Parliament. But what will this shift mean for Australian politics? Will increased diversity in our representatives and the community organising of the teals see politics done differently? Or is this result just an outlier from politics as usual, with these new, diverse politicians in precarious positions facing a ‘glass cliff’?
