Survey information
The project aims to explore the impact of testimonies about sexual experiences, including experiences of sexual violence, unwanted sex, positive sexual encounters, consensual sexual experiences, or other experiences related to sex. Understanding how these testimonies can influence social, legislative, and cultural shifts is crucial for developing strategies to enhance their impact.
Part of this research includes a survey targeted at individuals who have previously submitted testimonies about their sexual experiences. If you consent to participate, you will be asked to complete a short online survey with demographic, multiple choice, and open-ended questions, which should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
You will be asked about your experiences submitting a testimony, perception of its impact, and suggestions for maximising its effectiveness. You will not be asked to discuss your sexual experiences in detail, as the survey will be focused on your perception of the impact of testimonies on broader social change.
- We’re looking for individuals who are 18 or older at the time of taking the survey and have previously shared your testimonies with external platforms (e.g., social media, commissions, inquiries, etc.). While participants must be 18 or older now, you do not need to have been 18 when you submitted your testimony.
- The survey is completely anonymous and focuses on your experiences sharing your testimony - not the details of the experience you testified about.

Participant information
You must be over the age of 18 and have submitted a testimony or multiple testimonies about your sexual experience (e.g. an experience of sexual violence, positive sexual experience) to an external platform, such as a commission, senate inquiry, workplace, Instagram page, testimony website, etc. For the purpose of this survey, "testimony" refers to a personal account or story shared by an individual about their sexual experiences. This can include written statements, verbal accounts, or other forms of communication shared with external platforms such as commissions, senate inquiries, workplaces, social media platforms, or dedicated testimony websites. You will be asked to focus on your experience of sharing a single testimony and, if you have submitted multiple testimonies, to please select one to concentrate on. Please note that this survey is only open to people who have submitted a testimony about a sexual experience to an external platform. If you select that you have not, you will be directed to the end of the survey and your answers will not be recorded.
